Purpose

Simple table LUT with 500 different colors intended to serve as LUT for 2D and volume rendering of multiple connected components.

Usage

Just connect the inventor output to your view or use the ML LUT output if you are to modify the LUT further e.g. to add semi transparency to some color of a large component as done in the example network.

Tips

It may also be a good idea to copy the internal Table LUT to your network and modify that according to your needs.

The LUT table was generated by an old school csh script near the modules mlab in the repository. A little text in modules GUI explains this further. Feel free to convert that csh bits to python ;-).

Shows the used LUT sampling point. These may be edited to improve coloring or transparency.

Note that the alpha values are stated as 100, but are treated as in [0,1], thus in order to get a transparent color enter e.g. 0.05 as Alpha value.

A setting replacing the first bright green color with e.g. 3 0.00 55 22.00 100 was found to improve distinction for e.g. renderings showing a sum of a red reference mask and a yellow test mask at value 2 the agreeing 3 valued points look better at a darker slightly blueish green than the bright green of the original table.

For e.g. connected component cluster renderings it is often a good idea to make the largest or a few of the larger clusters semi transparent by providing tiny alpha values for them.
